Volunteer Opportunity: Catapult Grey Bruce Board of Directors
Purpose:
Catapult Grey Bruce is looking for two individuals interested in making a meaningful contribution to the area’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through volunteer positions on Catapult Grey Bruce’s Board of Directors.
Organization Overview:
Catapult Grey Bruce is an exciting, new entrepreneurship accelerator located in Owen Sound, Ontario that is focused on collaboration, mentorship, diversity, rural prosperity and community.
A not-for-profit organization, founded by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, Catapult’s mission is to empower entrepreneurs with connections, knowledge and space to take their business to the next level.
Catapult Grey Bruce is a Startup Canada community and an anchor tenant in Sydenham Campus Skilled Trades, Training and Innovation Centre in Owen Sound.

About the Board of Directors:
The Board of Directors provides guidance and oversight to the Executive Director and actively participates in setting the strategic direction and fundraising activities of the organization. As an active and involved board, Catapult Grey Bruce is looking for experienced directors interested in participating in the growth of the organization.
Expectations of Directors:
While we will entertain applications from all qualified applicants, preference will be given to candidates with entrepreneurial experience and diverse lived experiences within our region.
Specifically, the Board of Directors is looking forward to hearing from candidates who have some or all of the following attributes and experience:
Primary resident of Grey or Bruce County.
Experience with entrepreneurship or an entrepreneur ecosystem
Familiar with not-for-profit governance.
Strong community connections, fundraising and event planning experience.
Experience with strategic plans, budgets and financial controls.
Working Conditions
Board Directors are required to commit to:
5-10 hours per month to prepare and participate in monthly meetings, committees, and provide ongoing support to the Executive Director.
Participate in board meetings on the first Wednesday of the month from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
A three-year term commencing at the AGM (September 7, 2022).
Participation on at least one committee (Fundraising, Audit & Finance, HR & Recruitment, Governance or other).
